You tried balancing the handful of grocery bags as you stumbled up to your front porch. Placing some of the bags on the ground you grabbed your keys out of your pocket and unlocked the ceramic door. You grabbed the bags that you had previously placed down. You used your foot to open the door, grabbing the keys with your teeth. Once inside your house, you kicked the door shut and walked over to the kitchen counter.
You let out a sigh of relief as you placed the groceries down. You took the keys out from your clenched teeth and shoved them back into your pocket. You began to unpack the many green bags, placing the items in their designated spot. You were just finishing putting away the last bag of groceries when you heard a yelp of pain coming from down the hall. Placing down the yellow boxes that were you in your hand on the counter; you began to run towards the location of the yelp.
You ran down the long narrow hall of your shared house all the way to the living room. Peering inside the beige room you noticed a familiar albino on his hands and knees. Upon closer inspection you noticed he was under the coffee table. You presumed he must've lost something, and didn't want to be un-awesome and not look for it.
"Gilbert?" you asked slowly approaching the albino.
"Verdammt!" he yelled as he hit his head off the table. He crawled from underneath it rubbing it.
"Whatcha doing?" you asked trying to hold back laughter.
"Just being awesome," he smiled proudly.
"Being awesome under the coffee table?" you questioned with a laugh.
"Ja, it's the best place it be awesome." he stated getting up off the floor.
"Of course it is," you drifted off. "So where's Gilbird?" you ask noticing the yellow bird wasn't flying around his owner.
"Vell, h-he's," Gilbert put on a thinking face trying to come up with a good excuse. "Sleeping! He's sleeping!"
"Oh, sleeping is he? Where?" you questioned seeing right through his lie.
"In my room," he childishly argued crossing his arms over his chest.
"Good, I bought him something while I was out. I'll just go get him," you smiled as you turned to leave the living room.
"Fine, go ahead." Gilbert grumpily stated.
"I know he's not in your room Gilbert," you sighed. "You lost him again didn't you?"
"Vhat! I am too awesome to lose Gilbird," he mumbled.
"Gilbert," you scorned turning to face him.
"Alright, I did lose him." he grumbled kicking his foot off the ground.
"I'll help you look for him," you sighed giving into his childish antics.
You went onto all fours and began to look under the couch. Gilbert decided to check in the higher places, in case Gilbird decided to take a snooze in the high altitude. You and Gilbert had checked almost every room in the large house with no sign of Gilbird. You could tell Gilbert was upset about the temporary loss of his awesome best friend.
"We'll find him," you comforted as you and Gilbert walked into the kitchen area.
The Prussian took a seat at the large dinning room table in the next room. Sighing you turned to finish putting the groceries away. You noticed two yellow boxes still on the counter from where you'd left them earlier. You reached your hand out toward one of the packages and noticed it was open.
"Gilbert!" you called out to the albino.
"Vhat is it?" he asked walking into the kitchen.
"Is Feli here?" you questioned.
"Ja, he is vith vest." he stated. "Vhy?"
"I think he's been into my candy," you pouted.
"Does the awesome me get candy?" Gilbert's eyes lit up.
"I don't think you'd want this kind of candy-"
"Non-sense, I am awesome enough for the candy." he argued grabbing the box from your hand.
The Prussian's eyes went wide as he read the name of the candy and glanced at it's contents. "Fräulein! Vhy are you being so cruel!" he screamed.
"Gilbert, it's marshmallow." you stated grabbing the already opened box of candy.
You reached inside the box and grabbed one of the yellow birds. You held the sugary treat in the palm of your hand.
"See?" you asked. "It's marshmallow," you smiled as you brought your hand up to your mouth.
You were about to plop the candy bird into your mouth when it chirped. Immediately you pulled your hand away, and stared at it. Another chirp left the bird, you eyes went wide as you realized it was Gilbird.
"You vere going to eat him!" Gilbert cried running over to rescue his friend.
"Gilbert! It's not like I knew!" you protested. "He must've found his way inside the package."
"Gilbird you cannibal!" the albino screeched.
"What is it now?" you sighed.
"He vas eating his own kind!" Gilbert hissed.
"Aw, does little Gilbird like marshmallow?" you cooed walking over to the small yellow bird who was nestled Gilbert's palm. "Here have another one," you offered feeding the bird another small piece. Gilbird let out a satisfied chirp as he munched on the soft candy.
"____! Don't do that!" Gilbert yelled. You just laughed and ruffled his white hair. "Nein! Don't touch my awesome hair!"
"I am sorry Gilbert," you apologized as you stood on your tip toes and kissed his pale nose. A deep red blush crawled onto his has as his red eyes went wide.
"Vell, you should be." he grunted crossing him arms.
"I am going to get some more candy from the store. Want to come?" you asked the Prussian.
"A-Are you going to buy more of the yellow bird candy?" he asked nervously.
"No, I won't." you laughed grabbing his hand and dragging him out the door.
"I am going to get the purple ones this time!" you giggled, as Gilbert began to protest. You let go of his hands and quickly pecked him on the lips. Which immediately shut him up.
"Ja, I know I am awesome. Of course you'd vant to kiss me." he stated casting you a wink.
"Come on," you laughed grabbing his hand again.
