"Hey Matthew," you smiled towards your web cam as the call went through. The familiar face of your blonde Canadian friend soon appeared.
"Hello," he responded with a small smile.
"So what's up? I just got your message," you stated as you adjusted your laptop screen.
"I was wondering if you'd go to the Canada Day Festival with me?" he asked quietly.
"Isn't that the same day as your birthday?" you questioned, to which he nodded.
"Of course I will. You're my best friend. I'd love to celebrate Canadia day with you," you joked, and made reference to your American friend Alfred. He would always mispronounce Canada, and instead say Canadia. Matthew laughed in response, and you couldn't help but smile.
His laugh is the best sound, you thought.
"I have to go. Francis said he was going to help me with my French homework. So, I'll call you later," he told you. "Bye."
"Bye Mattie," you responded as you closed the lid of your laptop.
You had been chatting away with one of your good friends before class started. Today was the last day of school and you only had one period left to attend before summer break would start.
"You doing anything on Canada Day?" you friend asked as she rested her elbow on the corner of your wooden desk.
"Yeah I am celebrating it with Matthew. It is his birthday you know," you laughed slightly.
"Have you told him yet?" your friend whispered. You glanced around the classroom to see if Matthew was paying attention. Thankfully he was busy and was talking with Alfred.
"No I haven't. He doesn't feel the same way. Alfred told me he already likes someone," you frowned as you rested your head on your desk.
"Maybe he does like you-"
"It's fine really. We're better off friends," you smiled sadly as you waited for the class to start.
Matthew watched you from his desk. He loved the way you talked and even sometimes used your hands to get a point across. He tended to watch you talk without having you notice. He couldn't keep his focus around you.
"We should be together," he whispered to himself.
"I think we should be together too dude," Alfred joked as he playfully pushed Matthew.
"Alfred stop," Matthew hissed un-amused.
"You really like ____ don't you?" Alfred asked his demeanour became a serious one.
"Yes I do," he sighed as he took another glance at you. "I love how her hair falls in her face. She is everything I ever wanted."
Alfred smiled as he followed Matthew's gaze towards you. "Kiss her on the Ferris wheel at the festival," he suggested.
"Will that work?" Matthew questioned as he looked towards Alfred.
"Trust me on this," Alfred reassured as the teacher walked into class. "Trust me."
You sat in front of your bathroom mirror. You had just finished getting ready for the festival. Your present for Matthew laid on the counter next to you. You smiled at yourself, grabbed the present and headed out of your house.
You made your way to the festival which was held in a small park not too far from your house. You noticed the two brothers standing at the entrance. You waved, and ran up to them.
"Hey guys," you greeted. "Happy birthday Mattie," you laughed as you passed him his gift.
He blinked and took the gift. A soft smile spread across his face as he opened it. It was a small woven bracelet. In the middle was a polar bear charm carved into a metal plate. He smiled at it as he slipped it on his wrist.
"Merci," he quietly thanked.
"Anything for my best friend," you laughed as you grabbed his hand. "Now let's go celebrate," you proclaimed as you dragged him into the festival.
"Where do you want to go?" you asked Matthew.
The night had gone without a hitch. It was now nearing eleven pm, which meant the festival would be shutting down soon. There was just enough time for one last activity. You decided to let the birthday boy decide.
"How about the Ferris wheel?" he suggested.
You looked at said amusement ride and nodded. "Let's go!"
After waiting in line for around twenty minutes the two of you finally made it on to the ride. You took a seat on the metal swing and grinned as you were locked in beside Matthew. The Canadian shyly moved his hand closer to yours and grasped it. A small smile spread across your face as he intertwined your fingers.
"Hey Mattie?" you asked as you looked at the blonde.
"Hm?" he replied.
"I really like you," you confessed. He smiled brightly.
"I really like you as well," he admitted with a soft blush. He tilted your chin upwards and softly pressed his lips to yours.
You pulled away and chuckled softly. "Well this summer is off to a great start,"
He nodded. "A really great start," he put an arm around your and kissed your forehead gently.
"Hello," he responded with a small smile.

England x Reader ending
The (brunette, blond, ginger, raven, etc., etc., etc.) haired girl turned up to Arthur with hesitant eyes, her heart rate thundering. "C'mon, dudette, just tell us already.... I know ya' love the hero!," Alfred whined.
Arthur quickly smacked him upside the head, a small growl flaming in his throat, "Why would she love such an over egoistic, arrogant prick?!"
"Because at least I'm not a total asshole!" Alfred snapped back.
"Why ye' little---!"
She subconsciously furrowed her eyebrows, the choice building up in her mind. Her fingers wrapped around Arthur's prim union jack tie, pulling him into a soft kiss.
Alfred's jaw dropped silently as

She was wearing shorts, while he had a sweater.
It was an action out of pure habit, since summer in his home had a much milder approach than the scorching sun that insisted to greet him every morning for some hours of a true desert bare of sand (if the beaches were disregarded, something he often did, since it was a rare sight to see him trying his luck in the all too warm environment). Practically the living spirit of California. That day was an odd one, since she had managed to drag him for a stroll at the shoreline. There was a chilly

You blushed faintly and sighed "Whatever dude...", you looked at the time on your phone "The bell is going to ting any minute and I can't find my locker in all of this..", you grumbled.
Seeing your distress, he laughed heroically and smiled, giving you a thumbs up "Don't worry~ The hero is here to your rescue~", he winked and pulled on your arm "Let's go!"
You blushed brightly "F-Fine...My locker is G214...", you murmured.
"Aww man! That's on the other side of the school...", he sighed - feigning sadness "I guess I'll just have to walk you from here...and your classes too.."
You raised a brow "You're weird.", you said and started walking.
